Open Access Policy
Primary Care Science and Practice (PCSP) is a Gold Open Access journal. This means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or their institution. In accordance with the BOAI (Budapest Open Access Initiative) definition of open access, users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.
Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) license. Under this license:
Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication.
Readers may share and redistribute the material, provided appropriate credit is given.
Reuse: Authors do not require additional permission from PCSP to reuse tables, figures, or snippets from their own articles in future scientific or educational works, provided the original publication is properly cited.
Article Sharing Policy (Author Self-Archiving)
PCSP encourages authors to share their research to maximize its visibility and impact. We support the Green Open Access model through the following self-archiving policies:
Accepted Manuscript (Post-print): This is the version of the manuscript that has been accepted for publication after peer review but before copyediting and layout. Authors may share this version on personal websites, institutional repositories, or non-commercial subject repositories.
Version of Record (Published Version): This is the final PDF as it appears in PCSP. Authors are encouraged to share the Version of Record immediately upon publication. When sharing, authors must provide a link to the original article on the PCSP website and include the article’s Digital Object Identifier (DOI).
Pre-prints: Authors who have previously shared a preprint on a server (e.g., medRxiv) are encouraged to update the preprint record with a link to the final published article in PCSP.
